Sharp IR GP2Y0A710K0F ultra long range 500cm

This extra-long-range SHARP distance sensor bounces IR off objects to determine how far away they are. It returns an analog voltage that can be used to determine how close the nearest object is. These sensors are good for detection/ distance measurement between 100cm-500cm (1-5 meters / 3-15 feet). The long range makes them a good alternative to sonar sensors.

It is composed of an integrated combination of PSD (position sensitive detector), IRED (infrared emitting diode) and signal processing circuit. The variety of the reflectivity of the object, the environmental temperature and the operating duration are not influenced easily to the distance detection because of adopting the triangulation method
